Russell "Bucky" Dent was a young baseball player with the Chicago White Sox when he first learned the Silva Method in 1975, along with several of his Chicago White Sox teammates. In 1978, after joining the New York Yankees, he contributions were so great that when they won the World Series, they named him their Most Valuable Player (MVP).

Something seems to be happening, I am not sure what, but luck seems to be improving and the daily worries don't seem to be getting to me, such as under staffing and problems with interactions between staff and patients. Even had the comment that I looked happier than I had in a long time. Headaches are almost gone, too. Three quick "Silva Moments" (as we call them around here):

I lost my car keys today...never happens! But I haven't been driving our Suburban for a bit. I looked everywhere and just as I was about to take Steve's keys, I had a mental flash of my ancient yellow rain slicker that I almost never wear. But one day last week I did in a driving rain storm. I went to the closet and my keys were in the pocket of the slicker...something I never do with them.

As I was on the way to the car, Steve came from the garage and asked if I had seen the fish finder for his boat! With all the packing we have been doing I don't even know where half my wardrobe is, let alone the fish finder! I told him to visualize it and as I was pulling away from the house he popped out the door, fish finder in hand. Said he had suddenly "seen" it in his bookcase in his den. Not the normal storage place for sure! I made a reference to him using his Silva, and he just grinned!

Gotta love that mental video. I did one and today our prospective buyers took our "take it or leave it" final offer for our house, and in the morning will fax us a new contract reflecting our requests! I began to use the Silva Centering Exercise to relax in the evening. My days are usually stressful and the stress carries over into the evening. I also developed hyperthyroidism which has insomnia as a symptom

and I was prescribed sleeping pills which I have taken for about 16 months.

After a week of practicing the Silva Centering Exercise, I noticed that I hadn't been taking the sleeping pills. It wasn't that I was falling asleep during the exercise, but afterwards I felt so relaxed. When I went to bed I fell asleep immediately. When it occurred to me that I hadn't been taking the pills, it also occurred to me that I had been practicing the Centering Exercise about as long as I had been forgetting to take the pills. The best part along with coming off of sleeping pills is that I don't wake up during the night. I sleep soundly, deeply and peacefully. By the way, the hyperthyroidism went away after four months even though the specialist said that I would be on medication for about 18 months. I'm not sure what happened, but I don't take any medication for anything anymore. Thank you Mr. Silva for helping me get to the "root" of my problem. I feel like a new person! -Jeanetta Wright
